Robert B. Shelton
is Manager of Planning and Program Development for the Engineering Science and
Technology Division. The division is
one of the larger and more complex of the 16 research divisions at the Oak
Ridge National Laboratory. The division's mission is to conduct engineering
based, interdisciplinary research, development, and deployment; and analyzing
and influencing key energy and environmental policies affecting the security of
our country. The division is the home to several national user facilities, which
fosters industry/government collaboration in the development of new energy
technologies. The division has annual expenditures of approximately $85 million
and a staff of approximately 325.
Robert Shelton
is an economist by training. He has held previous teaching, research, and
administrative positions at Arizona State University, the University of
Wyoming, Resources for the Future, the National Research Council/National
Academy of Sciences. In addition to his administrative duties, he has led a
number of international energy assistance projects in Bangladesh, Haiti,
Guatemala, Pakistan, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, and other FSU countries.
Robert Shelton
is a native of Texas. He is married, and he and his wife, Jocelyn, have three
sons.
