Title: Investigations of Causes and Mechanism of board Memory Devices Degradation in Piloted Satellites

1. Summary.

The aim of the project is investigation of the mechanism and establishing the causes of memory devices (MD) failure for board remote-sensing equipment; forecasting  the reliability of MD in conditions of many year space flights for space technical facilities development and providing infallible work of Earth remote-sensing electronics of piloted and non- piloted space-crafts ( PS, NPS).

The following results would be obtained:

- Reasons and mechanisms that affect MD in board remote-sensing systems would be analysed. Model and methods to forecast MD failures as well as reliability standards for board computer systems and their permissible alteration during many year space flights would be elaborated. Working of board computer systems during many year space flights would be optimized.

-Experimental data of upset memory sell  in the «MIR» orbital complex would be analysed; a model of physical processes in electronic semiconductors in real  conditions would be worked out.

- Documents with recommendations on reliability standards for board MD for many year space flights and on optimum regimes and terms of their work in space-crafts board systems would be elaborated.

- Russian-English-Kazakh space terminology dictionary would be composed.

-Mathematical and physical MD failure models for many year space flights will be worked out.

This aim would be achieved through solution of the following problems:

-1. Board MD failures registration taking into account a combined influence of flight and space factors.

 - Development of test programs (software) for collecting information, identification and localization of MD failures.

Development of software for mathematical modeling and forecasting of the frequency of MD failures in conditions of many year space flights ( from 2 to 18 years).

 2. Investigation of physical processes in semiconductors of electronics in conditions of micro-gravitation at space-crafts;

-. Estimation of combined influence of all space factors (including radioactive one) inside and outside the piloted space-crafts.
